Need help with Sioma?
Start here first. Most common account, story, audio, purchase and privacy questions are answered before you need to contact support.
Account & login
Sign-in, email, password and account access
How do I sign in to Sioma?
Sioma uses email and password only — there's currently no "Sign in with Google" or similar. Create an account with your email address and a password, and use the same combination to sign back in.
Do I need to confirm my email address?
Depending on how your account was set up, you may need to confirm your email before you can sign in for the first time. If you just signed up and can't log in yet, check your inbox (and spam folder) for a confirmation email.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
Use "Forgot password" on the sign-in screen. We'll send a password-reset email to your account address — follow the link to set a new password.
I didn't get a confirmation or password-reset email. What now?
- Check your spam/junk folder first — this is the most common cause.
- Make sure you're checking the inbox for the exact email address your account uses.
- Wait a few minutes; delivery can occasionally be slow.
- If it still hasn't arrived after that, contact support and mention which type of email you're missing (confirmation or password reset) — we'll check the account state and re-send if needed.
Can I change the email address on my account?
Not directly in the app today. If you need your account email changed, contact support with your current account email and the new one you'd like — we'll help you sort it out.
Can I use Sioma on more than one device?
Yes — just sign in with the same email and password on each device. Your stories, favorites, and account settings are tied to your account, not to a device.
Does logging out on one device log me out everywhere?
No. Logging out only ends the session on the device you're using — it doesn't sign you out anywhere else. If you're concerned about unauthorized access to your account, change your password, which invalidates existing sessions.
My account seems locked or I can't do anything. What happened?
Sioma doesn't have an account-locked or deactivated state — if something in the app isn't responding the way you expect, it's more likely a one-off technical issue than an account problem. Try closing and reopening the app first; if that doesn't help, contact support under "Technical issue."
(Note: a single story's audio can show as "locked" if you haven't purchased narration for it yet — that's unrelated to your account and is explained under Audio & downloads.)
How do I delete my account?
Account deletion is a separate, dedicated flow — see Account deletion. It permanently removes your account and associated data and can't be undone from the app or by contacting support afterward, so make sure it's what you want first.
Stories
Creation, library, deletion, language variants and series
Where do I find stories I've already created?
Open "My Stories" (Meine Geschichten) — every story you've created is saved there. Once you have more than a few, a search box and filter chips (All / Favorites / by theme) appear to help you find one quickly.
Story generation failed. What do I do?
Just try again — generation is a single request with no queue behind it, so a failure isn't something stuck "in progress" that you need to wait out. If it keeps failing, contact support under "Stories" and let us know what you were trying to create.
Can I regenerate a story?
You can start a new story with the same or similar settings at any time — there's no "regenerate this exact story" button, but a saved template (see below) makes it quick to recreate a setup you liked.
Can I delete a story?
Yes — from My Stories or the story itself. Deleting a story removes it from your library along with its saved translation-help cache. This can't be undone, so make sure you no longer need the story before deleting it.
Can I continue a story, or is each one standalone?
Individual stories are self-contained. If you want ongoing continuity — the same character or world returning across separate stories — that's what Series are for (see below), rather than "continuing" a single story mid-way.
How do Series work?
A Series keeps a character or imagery world consistent across otherwise separate, self-contained stories. Not every story can start a series — it depends on the story's effect-mechanism and form. Once a story is series-eligible, you can start new episodes from it; Sioma gently reminds you a series is "waiting for you" a few days after your last episode — this is just a nudge, not a streak, and nothing is lost if you don't return right away.
Can I change a story after it's created?
Not the story text itself. What you can do afterward: create a language variant — the same story rewritten at a different language level, translated into a different language, or both — without touching the original.
Can I save my story settings to reuse later?
Yes — save a setup as a template ("Meine Vorlagen") from the Individual-story wizard. A template remembers your theme, mood, length, and similar preferences (not one-off details like custom notes), so starting a similar story next time is a couple of taps instead of the full wizard.
Is there a limit on how many stories I can save?
Yes, tied to your plan. Check "Abo & Nutzung" (Subscription & usage) in your profile for your exact current limit and how many you've used — limits differ between the Free and Unlimited plans and can change, so we keep the authoritative number there rather than repeating it here.
A story I created isn't showing up in My Stories. What happened?
This is uncommon — first, pull down to refresh the list in case it's a display issue. If it's genuinely missing after that, contact support under "Stories" with roughly when you created it and what you remember about its settings (theme, length, language) so we can look into it.
Audio & downloads
Narration generation, playback, voices and audio availability
How do I listen to a story instead of reading it?
Open the story and tap "Listen." Audio is generated the first time you listen to a specific story (and stays cached after that, so replaying it is instant) — the first play can take a little while depending on the story's length.
How long does audio usually take to generate?
Typically well under a minute for most stories. If it's taking noticeably longer than that or seems stuck, try leaving the screen and coming back, or restart the request — there's no background queue holding it up elsewhere, so a fresh attempt genuinely starts over.
What if audio generation fails?
You'll see an error rather than a silent hang — just try again. If it keeps failing on the same story, contact support under "Audio & downloads" with the story's language and length if you remember them.
Can I choose who narrates my story?
Yes — pick from several narrator voices, each with a short preview so you can hear it before committing. You can pick a narrator per story rather than being locked into one voice for everything.
Can the same story have more than one narration?
Yes — switching narrators generates a fresh narration in the new voice; your original narration isn't lost, and previously generated narrations for that story remain available.
Can I download audio to my device?
Not currently — audio plays in the app but isn't offered as a downloadable file. If that matters to your use case, let us know via the contact form — it helps us prioritize.
What are the sleep timer and loop options?
Both live under "More options" on a story's audio screen:
- Sleep timer pauses playback automatically after a set time (5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes) — handy for falling asleep to a story without it running all night.
- Loop repeats the story a set number of times (once, twice, three, five, ten, or fifteen times) rather than playing endlessly — pick how many repeats you want and it stops there.
What happens to audio if I delete the story it belongs to?
The audio is tied to the story — once the story is deleted, its audio is no longer reachable in the app. If you want to keep listening to something, do that before deleting the story it belongs to.
What happens to my audio if I delete my account?
Account deletion removes your stories and their associated audio as part of the same process — see Account deletion for the full picture, including what's retained only where legally required.
Audio won't play / keeps stuttering. What should I try?
- Check your internet connection — audio streams rather than fully downloading up front.
- Close and reopen the story.
- Restart the app if the issue persists.
If none of that helps, contact support under "Audio & downloads" with your device type and roughly what happens (won't start, cuts out partway, etc.).
Purchases & subscriptions
Google Play billing, subscriptions and single-story audio access
What plans does Sioma offer?
A Free plan with limited stories per month and no narration, and an Unlimited subscription (monthly or yearly) that raises those limits substantially and includes narration up to a generous monthly amount. Exact current numbers and prices are shown in the app under "Abo & Nutzung" (Subscription & usage) and on the subscription screen before you buy — we keep this page general since limits and pricing can change.
What exactly does narration on the Unlimited plan include?
A monthly amount of included narration, generous enough to cover regular listening. Once you've used it for the month, you can still listen to any individual story by unlocking just that one — see "How do I unlock audio for a single story?" below.
Are payments handled through Google Play?
Yes — all purchases (subscriptions and single-story audio unlocks) go through Google Play Billing. Sioma doesn't process payment details itself.
How do I unlock audio for a single story?
If a story's audio is locked (you're on the Free plan, or you've used up your Unlimited-plan narration for the month), you'll see a one-time purchase option priced by the story's length. This unlocks narration for that specific story only — it's not a top-up credit or wallet you spend down elsewhere.
Is there a difference between narration included in my subscription and audio I bought separately?
Both play the same way once generated. The difference is only in how you got access: subscription narration comes out of your monthly quota; a single-story purchase is billed once for that specific story regardless of your subscription status, and stays available even if your subscription later lapses.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through Google Play, the same as any other Play Store subscription on your device (Play Store app → Subscriptions → Sioma). Sioma doesn't have a separate in-app cancellation flow, since Google Play is the source of truth for your subscription status.
What happens to my stories if I cancel my subscription?
Nothing is deleted. Your existing stories, favorites, and any previously generated or purchased audio stay exactly as they were — cancelling only affects whether new Unlimited-plan benefits (like included monthly narration) keep renewing going forward.
I was charged but nothing was unlocked. What do I do?
This is uncommon, since purchases are verified with Google before anything is unlocked. First, try closing and reopening the app — the unlock may just need a refresh to show up. If it's still not unlocked after that, contact support under "Purchases & subscriptions" with your Google Play order number if you have it (the form has an optional field for it) — we'll investigate from there.
I was charged twice, or the wrong amount was charged.
Contact support with your Google Play order number(s) — billing issues are ultimately governed by Google Play's own policies and your consumer rights, and we'll help you sort out the right next step, including a refund through Google Play where applicable.
Do refunds go through Sioma or Google Play?
Google Play handles the actual refund mechanics for purchases made through it. If a purchase didn't deliver what it should have (e.g. audio never generated after a successful charge), contact us first — we'll make it right directly where we can, or point you to Google Play's refund process where that's the correct path. Your mandatory consumer rights are never affected by any of this.
Privacy & data
Stored data, providers, rights requests and account deletion
What data processors does Sioma use?
- Anthropic — generates your story text from the choices you make.
- ElevenLabs — converts story text to narration audio.
- Supabase — our database, file storage, and account/authentication provider.
- Google Play Billing — subscriptions and in-app purchases.
- Brevo — transactional email and support confirmations.
- Cloudflare — domain/security services and anti-abuse protection for website forms.
See the Privacy Policy for the full, current description of service providers and data processing.
Does Sioma use my stories to train AI models?
No — we don't use your story content to train our own models. Story generation and narration requests are sent to Anthropic and ElevenLabs as processors to perform those specific tasks, under their standard API terms.
Are my stories and audio stored?
Yes — both are stored so your library, favorites, and history work the way you'd expect. Stories stay available for as long as your account exists; there's no automatic deletion after a fixed number of days just because a story is old.
What data does Sioma log?
We keep technical logs needed to run and secure the service (things like request timing and error codes) — not your story text, narration audio, or authentication tokens. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
What data can I delete myself, without contacting support?
Individual stories, from within the app — see Stories. Your favorites and history follow along automatically when a story is deleted.
How do I request a copy of my data, or ask what's held about me?
Contact support under "Privacy & data" — this covers access, correction, and other GDPR rights requests, not just deletion. We handle these directly rather than routing you to a separate address.
How do I delete my entire account?
Use the dedicated Account deletion flow, reachable from the app (Profile → My data → Delete account) or directly on the website without needing to open the app. It permanently removes your account, stories, audio, and personal settings.
If I delete my account, is everything gone immediately and forever?
Your account and data are removed from our active systems as part of the deletion process. A small number of records may be kept only where required by law (for example, accounting records), and — like any service with routine backups — deleted data can remain in short-lived backup systems for a limited window before being fully rotated out; it isn't accessible through the app or your account in the meantime. See the Privacy Policy for specifics.
Will deleting my account cancel an active subscription?
Deleting your account stops a Google Play subscription from renewing going forward. It doesn't automatically issue a refund for the period you've already paid for — if you want to handle the subscription separately first, you can cancel it in Google Play before deleting your account, though this isn't required.
I have a general privacy or legal question that isn't covered here.
Contact support — for Sioma, general support, privacy requests, and legal enquiries all go to the same address, so there's no need to figure out which one to use.
Using Sioma
Quick Start, reading, languages, translation, templates and series
What's the difference between Quick Start and Individual Story?
Quick Start is the fast path — pick a mood (tired, stressed, sad, and similar) and optionally your current situation, and Sioma suggests a matching curated story idea with alternatives to choose from. Individual Story goes deeper: you additionally choose a topic area and context to narrow down curated ideas, or build a story from scratch by picking a theme, how you want the story to affect you, and your mood, step by step. Both end at the same fine-tuning step (length, perspective, story form, language) before generating.
What's the difference between reading and listening?
Every story offers a "Read" button (opens a focused, distraction-free reading view) and a "Listen" button (plays narration in place) side by side — pick whichever fits the moment, or use both: start listening, then switch to reading if you'd rather follow along with text.
What can I customize while reading?
Text size (a couple of steps up or down from the default) and a reading theme — Dark, Light, or Sepia — so you can match the light in the room or your own preference.
How many languages can I create and read stories in?
15 languages. You can pick the story's language independently from your app's own display language — so the app interface can be in one language while the story itself is in another.
What are language levels, and where do I use them?
Three levels — an easier level (roughly A1–A2), a standard level, and a more advanced level (roughly C1–C2) — you can pick when creating a story, or apply afterward by creating a language variant of a story you already have. It's meant for language-practice use: an easier level for comprehension while you're still building vocabulary, a harder one once you want more challenge.
How does the paragraph translation help work?
While reading, use the translate option to reveal a translation of that paragraph into a language of your choice — a tap-to-reveal overlay on top of your story, not a separate rewritten copy. You can turn it on ahead of time when creating the story, or reach it from within the reader itself.
What are Favorites for?
Tap the heart icon on any story to favorite it. Favorited stories are one tap away via the Favorites filter in My Stories, so the ones you return to most don't get buried among everything else.
What's in "My Stories"?
Every story you've created, as cards you can scroll through — with search and filtering (all stories, favorites only, or by theme) once your library grows past a handful of stories.
What are Series?
An optional way to keep a character or world consistent across multiple, otherwise separate stories, for stories whose settings support it. See Stories for more on how they work.
Can I save a setup I like and reuse it?
Yes — save it as a template from the Individual Story wizard. Reusing a template pre-fills your usual choices (theme, mood, length, and similar settings) so starting something in a familiar style takes a couple of taps instead of the full wizard again. This is also the closest thing to "make something similar to a story I liked" — Sioma doesn't currently have a one-tap "generate a similar story" button on a finished story itself, but a saved template gets you most of the way there.
Can I choose who narrates a story?
Yes — see Audio & downloads for narrator selection, previews, sleep timer, and loop.
Technical issue / App problem
General troubleshooting when another Help Center topic does not fit
The app is slow, frozen, or crashing.
- Close the app completely and reopen it.
- Restart your device if it persists.
- Make sure you're on the latest version of the app from the Play Store.
- Check your internet connection — several Sioma features (story creation, narration, purchases) need one.
I'm getting an error message I don't understand.
Contact support under "Technical issue / App problem" and include the exact wording of the error if you can, plus roughly what you were doing when it appeared (creating a story, listening, opening the app, etc.). Your app version and device OS version help too — the contact form can include these automatically if you're reaching it from the app.
Something looks visually broken (cut-off text, overlapping elements, etc.)
Let us know which screen it's on and, if you're able to, roughly what size/type of device you're using — contact support with those details.
None of this matches what I'm seeing.
That's fine — the category is just a starting point for us, not a strict filter. Contact support, describe what's happening in your own words, and pick whichever category feels closest.
